First Year EMBA Student Weekend

Last week we posted a Communique from the Wharton MBA Program for Executives class in San Francisco.  Now you’ll see how the East first-year class spent a recent weekend.

The WEMBA 33 Women’s Group will have its inaugural meeting today at lunch.  Ladies, if you want to join in, please take lunch from the main buffet and go to the Parkinson Room.  There will be silverware and drinks available there.

This afternoon you’ll be having your introductory session of the Leadership course with Mike Useem.  Please go to JMHH, F95 at 4:45 p.m. to meet Prof. Useem.  At the end of class please meet the buses outside Huntsman and we’ll go out to Mike’s house for a pool party and barbecue.  Hope you remembered your swimsuit!

If you are interested in joining the Gettysburg Trip on Sun., September 23rd, please sign up on the notice board this weekend. Space is limited to 50 people, first come, first-served

EXAM (part one!)
Those of you taking Governmental and Legal Environment of Business (LGST 621) have the first part of your final exam tomorrow. Those of you in Section One begin at 9:00 a.m., those of you in Section Two start at 12:45 p.m.  Both groups should go to JMHH, G60.

Both Dr. Crawford and Dr. MacDuffie will be distributing course and teacher evaluations this weekend.  Please complete your form with a No. 2 pencil (or your comments will not be recognized!) and return it to the classmate designated to collect them.

A-V set-up time tomorrow morning is from 8:00-8:45 a.m.  Final presentations for those of you in Section Two will begin at 8:45 a.m. and run until 12 noon.  Section One begins at 12:45 p.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m.

In your mail folder is a form for you to let us know who you’d like invited to our annual Sponsors Day in November.  Please give us the names and addresses of those people from your organization that you’d like invited and those you’d just like informed about the Program.  Please complete the form and return it to the box in the MBA Exec Lounge by the end of the weekend.  This is not an event for partners.  We are in the throes of arranging something special for next term.

Books for your Fall 2007 term will be available from the Bell Atlantic classroom, SCC, at lunch on Fri., August 24th and at breakfast and lunch on Sat., August 25th.  You’ll get a bag to tote home all that new potential knowledge.  If you’d rather ship your books than carry them, you can do so through the SCC front desk.  Please be sure to have a shipping account number or a credit card.

Next MBA Exec 33 weekend is the last of your first semester.  Congratulations on a great start to the program.  To celebrate one semester over and only five more to go, please join Howie and me in the second floor lobby (SCC) after class on Saturday to raise a glass to your accomplishment!
