Welcome to our First-Year EMBA Classes!

The newest students in Wharton’s MBA Program for Executives are off and running! Both classes successfully completed “boot camp” and have begun their every other week schedules.  In both locations – San Francisco and Philadelphia – the first-year executive MBA classes are comprised of diverse groups of exceptional individuals.

Our West Coast class brings an average of 11 years of work experience with 46% of the group holding advanced degrees.  The new Wharton | San Francisco students work in a broad array of industries, including entertainment, real estate, semiconductors, energy/utilities, consulting, portfolio management and technology services.

The San Francisco group commutes every other weekend from a variety of directions.  Many are from the greater Bay Area (Silicon Valley, The City, East Bay), as well as Southern California (Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County), Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and even Texas.  Their backgrounds are just as diverse on an international level with students from Canada, Russia, Germany, France, China, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, South Korea, Serbia and the Philippines.

Our East Coast class is comprised of many students from the Mid Atlantic and New England states, as well as more distant commuters from states such as Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia and Florida and even from Toronto.  This group is also diverse in their international representation, haling from Benin, Australia, Iran, Russia, China, Finland, Lebanon, Nigeria, India, Romania, Sudan, China, Germany, France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Israel, Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Ireland, the U.K., Taiwan and Turkey.

Professionally, they are also quite accomplished, with students averaging 10 years of experience in industries ranging from health care and aerospace to energy and insurance. In that mix, 45% hold advanced degrees.

We’re looking forward to getting to know both groups over the next two years!

A complete breakdown of the Class of 2012 Profile will be posted this summer.  Currently, the Class of 2011 Profile can be seen on our website.
