EMBA Application Deadlines & Timeline

The Wharton MBA for Executives program has two application rounds per year with two key dates for each round: Application Deadline and Decision Dates. Read below for information on application requirements and assistance.

Class Entering in 2020

Application DeadlineDecision Release Date
Round 1December 4, 2019 (11:59 p.m. PST)*Wednesday, January 22, 2020
Round 2February 5, 2020 (11:59 p.m. PST)*Wednesday, March 25, 2020

* Your application must be complete by the deadline in order for a decision to be released on time.

The Wharton MBA Program for Executives seeks a diverse and well-rounded class.  As such, we do not release decisions on a rolling basis and instead evaluate each round of applicants as a whole. We understand, however, that there can be exceptional cases in which applicants need an answer prior to our decision release date. If you have decided that the Wharton MBA Program for Executives is your top choice, and you believe that your situation warrants consideration for an earlier decision, please contact our office to discuss whether we might be able to accommodate your request.

Submitting Your Application

Timing

You may begin your online application at any time during the admissions process, and you can continue to edit and add to your information before you submit the completed application. You have until midnight PT on the day of the deadline to complete your online application.

Any materials you submit in hard copy (e.g. official transcripts and letter of sponsorship) must arrive in our office by 5 p.m. on the day of the deadline.

You can request a deadline extension if you have a compelling reason for needing one by contacting the office to which you’re applying.

Phone Chats

A phone chat is a great opportunity to ask the Admissions Team questions about your application, test prep strategy and scores, and the program itself. To prepare for your chat, we ask that you familiarize yourself with our website and come prepared with questions to make the most of the chat. A phone chat does not take the place of the admissions interview, which is required of all candidates. We look forward to talking with you! Click here to schedule a phone chat.

Interviews

Don’t wait until you submit your complete application to schedule your required admissions interview. All we need is your resume to conduct an interview. The interview is a chance for us to ask specific questions about your candidacy and for you to provide a more personal explanation about your professional background and interests. Many students find it helpful to plan a visit that includes both an interview and an opportunity to sit in on a class and join current students for lunch. Slots fill up quickly, so schedule your interview soon.

Admissions Decisions

Admissions decisions are announced online; you can view the decision by logging into your online application account after 5:00 p.m. ET (Philadelphia applicants) and 5:00 p.m. PT (San Francisco applicants) on the decision release date.
